Mark David complies to the KBSA’s top ten tips to finding the best retailer for your dream kitchen project:

  • Before you decide on a retailer make sure they have a showroom where you can inspect the quality of the product and installation.
  • Make sure they have a good track record of installations, check out their previous work and ask to see images and examples - a reputable retailer should be able to provide all of this. Even ask the retailer whether you can visit previous customers in your area.
  • Make sure retailers are aware of the Building Regulations including gas safe requirements for your project.
  • If they don't insist on a site survey before quoting, walk away there and then.
  • Check that the kitchen designer is indeed a designer, employed by a company with a local showroom.
  • All good retailers will ask for a deposit.
  • Before any money changes hands, get a copy of a written estimate that details every aspect of the job - it will save you a lot of hassle should the unthinkable happen and things start to go wrong.
  • The retailer should visit your home, carry out a survey of the site and discuss all the relevant details about what you need and desire in your project.
  • They will return to the showroom where their designer will produce a set of design plans - once the designs are finished the retailer should contact you to go through them with you, and according to your needs, refine the design.
  • Finally, never sign anything unless you have read it through fully and you're prepared to honour your side of the contract.

At Mark David, our first design and presentation is always given to you free of charge as our investment in your project. This service can be provided from your own set of plans or we can visit you at home and conduct an initial survey.

However, at this stage, our design would remain our property and no plans, elevations or perspectives would be given to you (although they are always accessible in the showroom).

After this first presentation, there will, no doubt be some changes and re-pricing to do and these will be the final changes we will make without charge.

This means that once you have seen the second presentation, we will be asking you to choose of 1 of these 3 deposit options:-

  1. A 25% deposit be paid to place your kitchen order (this is non refundable if you cancel your order, subject to your statutory rights)
  1. A 2.5% holding deposit be paid to secure a long term order (this is non refundable if you cancel your order, subject to your statutory rights) or
  1. £250 is paid to take away all plans, elevations and perspectives with no further obligation. (Please note that if you later decide to order your kitchen from us, this fee will be deducted from your kitchen order value)

Please remember that we are KBSA members which means that any deposits you pay to us are fully insured.

When you tour our showroom, you’ll see we offer a number of different types of product – and when combined we have over 3000 finishes to choose from, including different laminate, foils, veneers, matt lacquer, high gloss lacquer to name but a few. And on the colour side we can supply standard colours or any colour with a RAL number. We also have a lot of choice in types of design – for example with the handle-less design there are 6 x different versions to choose from – two of which are demonstrated in the showroom.

We offer a full quotation service – based on a detailed plan and specification which we will draw up from your very own wish list and taking the measurements of your kitchen space into account. Mark David’s highly qualified staff can be contacted within office hours to answer any technical or general queries that you may have regarding any step of the process. You can also download our detailed CUSTOMER ENQUIRY FORM here which will give you an idea of the product choices we will be discussing with you.

Mark David’s in-house designer offers a CAD service where we can produce a plan, elevations and perspectives in colour for you. Our CAD service incorporates all of our products so we are able to produce a good representation of exactly what you ask for.

When we receive an order it is immediately vetted for mistakes and queries – once ordered we will receive acknowledgement of the delivery week – this delivery week is when the kitchen and everything listed on the acknowledgement will arrive ready to install.
